Mus musculusGenAge entry for Adra1a (Mus musculus)

Gene information (ID: 1953)

Symbol
Adra1a
Name
adrenergic receptor, alpha 1a
Organism
Mus musculus (AnAge)

Potential relevance to longevity and/or ageing

Observations
Transgenic mice overexpressing a CAM form of the adrenergic receptor, alpha 1a (Adra1a), display an extended lifespan. Median lifespan taken for both sexes together is 10% higher than that of WT mice. While median lifespan increases for both sexes, this is significant for males only. Maximum lifespan also increases by 8% compared with WT mice.
% change in max lifespan
Maximum lifespan is 8% higher.
% change in avg or median lifespan
Median is 10% higher.
